Battery & solar savings for Australian C&I — how the Eco Sakura estimator works

Eco Sakura gives Australian commercial & industrial businesses a free, indicative estimate of how much a battery — and solar — could cut their electricity bill, focused on the maximum-demand charge. Powered by EWISER's EDM intelligence.

What it does

For a commercial or industrial site in Australia, the largest single lever on the bill is usually the maximum-demand charge — set by the highest 30-minute demand in the month. A battery that shaves that peak lowers the charge. If the site has or plans rooftop solar (PV), the battery can also charge on solar and discharge to the load, offsetting retail energy. The estimator models both and returns an indicative annual saving.

How it works — three steps

1. Tell us about the site. Upload one recent electricity bill for the most accurate estimate, or just enter a few details: average monthly cost, postcode, business type, and whether you have or plan solar.
2. Confirm the details. Check the reader got the numbers right (state, usage, demand).
3. Get your one-page estimate. See the indicative saving and a recommended battery size; Eco Sakura follows up to refine it on your real site.

What drives the saving

Maximum demand. Australian C&I tariffs bill the single highest half-hour of demand each month, so shaving that peak is where a battery earns most of its keep.

Solar self-consumption. With rooftop PV, the battery stores cheap/free solar and releases it to the load in the evening — offsetting retail energy on top of the demand saving.

State & incentives. The estimate adapts to each state's tariffs, and reflects the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS / PRC) battery incentive where it applies.

Frequently asked questions

How much can a battery save an Australian C&I business?

It depends on the site, but the biggest lever is the maximum-demand (peak) charge — set by the single highest 30-minute demand each month. A battery that shaves that peak cuts the demand charge; adding solar lets the battery charge on cheap/free solar and offset retail energy too. The estimator gives a free, indicative figure from your bill or a few details.

Do I need to upload a bill?

No. You can upload one recent electricity bill for the most accurate estimate, or just enter a few details — average monthly cost, postcode, business type, and whether you have or plan solar.

Which Australian states does it cover?

All of them — NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, ACT and NT. The estimate adapts to the state, and reflects the NSW PDRS battery incentive (PRC) where it applies.

Is it a quote?

No — it is an early, indicative estimate. Eco Sakura follows up to verify the numbers on your real site and design a system that fits.

What is it powered by?

EWISER's EDM (Energy Decision Management) intelligence — the same demand-shaving engine EWISER uses to model and operate commercial battery systems.
